UK greyhound racing runs almost every day, with meetings at tracks such as Monmore, Nottingham, Kinsley, Towcester and Central Park. Races go off roughly every 15 minutes, which makes the dogs one of the fastest ways to bet at Marshalls World of Sport.

UK greyhound meetings
The live greyhound meetings list shows each UK meeting with its first and last race. A UK meeting usually has around 12 races, and many run during the South African afternoon. Short of time? Next races shows the races about to start.
Traps and colours
Six greyhounds run in each UK race, one from each trap, and each trap has its own colour: trap 1 red, trap 2 blue, trap 3 white, trap 4 black, trap 5 orange and trap 6 black and white stripes. The race card shows every runner with its trap number and trainer.
UK greyhound bet types
UK greyhound bets are settled at starting price (SP), the official odds when the race starts.
- Win: your greyhound must finish first.
- Place: your greyhound must finish in the places paid for that race, shown at the top of the race card.
- Exacta: pick the first and second in the right order, or choose Any to cover them in either order.
- Trifecta: pick the first three in the right order, or choose Any to cover them in any order.
Reading a greyhound race card
Start with the traps: some dogs like to run close to the rail and others prefer to race wide, so check where each dog is drawn. Then look at recent form, the race distance and the grade of the race.
The English Greyhound Derby
The biggest race of the UK greyhound year is the English Greyhound Derby, run at Towcester in the summer.
